The expansion tank is a steel atmospheric pressure vessel with an exhaust pipe, overflow pipe, liquid level alarm, etc. at the upper part, and an expansion pipe at the lower part. It is connected to the main circulation pipeline of the heating system outside the oil and gas separator. During normal heating, the expansion tank does not participate in the circulation flow of the heat carrier, but it is an indispensable equipment in the organic heat carrier heating system and plays an important role.
The expansion tank, also known as the high-level tank, is installed at the highest height of the system pipeline and is further elevated by 1.5-2m. Therefore, due to its presence, it can provide a basic pressure head for the pipeline system, making the circulation pump work more stably.
It can serve the following functions:
1. The compensation function is to compensate for the volume change of the heat transfer oil caused by temperature changes.
2. The stabilizing groove is placed at a high position to supplement the pressure head.
3. Exhaust function: After the new oil is loaded into the system, the heat transfer oil of the entire system will separate into gas and steam during the heating process, which can be used for exhaust.
4. When there is a shortage of thermal oil in the system, it can be automatically replenished in a timely manner.
5. When injecting heat transfer oil into the system, the heat transfer oil can be injected into the tank first, and the heat transfer oil can flow automatically from the tank into the heating furnace and the entire system.
