Audited Supplier A packed tower is a type of tower equipment. Fill the tower with appropriate height of packing to increase the contact surface between the two fluids. For example, when applied to gas absorption, the liquid enters through the distributor from the upper part of the tower and descends along the surface of the packing. The gas flows upstream from the lower part of the tower through the filler pores and interacts closely with the liquid. The structure is relatively simple and maintenance is more convenient. Widely used in gas absorption, distillation, extraction and other operations.
Working principle: A packed tower is a tower equipment that uses the filling material inside the tower as its mass transfer medium. It is an upright cylinder with multiple tower components such as liquid distributors, packing supports, and packing. The packing is prevented from being placed on the packing support plate in a neat or disorderly manner, and is compacted by the packing pressure plate to prevent the packing from running randomly and affecting the working efficiency of the tower.
The liquid enters the liquid distributor through the upper pipeline and is then sprayed onto the lower packing material for mass transfer on the surface of the packing material. After the mass transfer is completed, it flows to the bottom of the tower and flows out through the pipeline. Gas generally enters below the tower and reacts with the liquid upwards.
