Light hydrocarbon separation and deep processing production unit
Project background
The light hydrocarbon comprehensive utilization project invested and constructed by Nanjing Yangzi Yangba Olefin Co., Ltd. (a joint venture) focuses on the efficient separation and deep processing of light hydrocarbon resources, aiming to improve the production capacity of high value-added chemicals. The project is located in Nanjing Jiangbei New Materials Science and Technology Park, with a total investment scale of one million tons of ethylene cracking unit, supporting core process units such as aromatics extraction, and comprehensively optimizing the industrial chain layout5.
Technical challenges
The project needs to achieve high-purity separation of light hydrocarbon components (such as isoprene, 1-pentene, and cyclopentene) to meet the needs of downstream new materials, pharmaceutical intermediates and other fields. Technical difficulties include:
Component separation accuracy: Light hydrocarbon components have similar boiling points, and traditional distillation has low efficiency and high energy consumption;
Equipment corrosion resistance: Some olefins are highly corrosive and require customized material solutions;
Safety and environmental protection: It must comply with the national "Petrochemical Enterprise Design Fire Protection Standard" and ultra-low emission requirements5.
Solutions and core equipment
Tongyang Chemical customized and developed the following key equipment for the project to ensure efficient, safe and environmentally friendly operation:
Isopentadiene distillation tower:
Adopting multi-stage fractionation design, equipped with high-efficiency fillers and tower internals, the separation purity is more than 99.5%;
The material is made of stainless steel-titanium composite plate, which improves corrosion resistance by 30% and extends the life of the equipment.
1-pentene distillation tower:
Integrated automatic control system (DCS/SIS), real-time adjustment of temperature and pressure parameters, energy consumption is reduced by 15%;
Combined with heat pump distillation technology, waste heat is recovered for preheating feed to achieve energy recycling.
Cyclopentene distillation tower:
Optimize the tower plate layout, reduce pressure drop loss, and increase the processing capacity by 20%;
Equipped with tail gas recovery system, VOCs emissions are less than 10mg/m³, meeting the "Petrochemical Industry Pollutant Emission Standard" 5.
Project Achievements
Capacity increase: 500,000 tons of light hydrocarbon raw materials are processed annually, and the purity of isopentadiene, 1-pentene, and cyclopentene products exceeds the industry standard;
Energy saving and consumption reduction: The comprehensive energy consumption is reduced by 18% compared with the traditional process, and about 12,000 tons of standard coal are saved annually;
Environmental benefits: The exhaust gas is treated by SCR denitrification and TO furnace, and the nitrogen oxide emission is ≤252 tons/year. 100% of the wastewater is reused, achieving "zero external discharge"5.
