The basic structure of large oil storage tanks consists of tank walls, tank tops, tank bottoms, and tank accessories. The longitudinal weld seam of the tank wall ring plate of the oil tank is generally butt joint and circumferential weld seam. Medium and small capacity oil tanks are generally sleeve type, while large capacity oil tanks are generally mixed type. The tank wall steel plate must meet the strength requirements and stability requirements. Generally divided into vertical dome roof oil tanks, vertical cone roof oil tanks, and spherical oil tanks. The structural form is divided into two types: docking and overlapping. The bottom plate of a dome roof oil tank generally has two sides and three blades. The middle part of the tank bottom plate is called the center plate, and the edge part is called the edge plate. When the diameter of the oil tank D<12.5m, a layout form consisting of a rectangular center plate and edges is generally adopted. When D ≥ 12.5, a layout form consisting of arched edge plates around the periphery is adopted.
Large oil storage tanks refer to large containers with a capacity of over 100 cubic meters, consisting of tank walls, top, bottom, and tank accessories, for storing crude oil or other petroleum products.
