The condensate cooler of extraction distillation tower can usually be classified into the following categories:
1. Direct cooler: Directly contacts the cooling medium (usually cold water or cooling gas) with the condensate to cool it through heat transfer. This type of cooler has a simple structure and convenient operation, but its heat transfer effect is relatively poor.
2. Indirect cooler: Heat transfer is carried out through a heat exchanger between the medium (such as cooling water or cooling gas) and the condensate. The medium and condensate flow through independent pipelines, and heat is transferred from the condensate to the medium, thereby achieving cooling of the condensate. This type of cooler has good heat transfer performance, but its structure is relatively complex.
3. Mixed cooler: It combines the characteristics of direct cooler and indirect cooler. Usually, a heat exchanger is added on top of the direct cooler to facilitate heat exchange between the cooling medium and the condensate, improving the heat transfer efficiency.
4. Shell and tube cooler: The cooling medium and condensate flow separately in the shell and tube, and heat exchange occurs through the tube wall. This type of cooler has a stable structure and good heat transfer effect, but its manufacturing and maintenance costs are high.
