The cylinder is a steam water separation device. Usually, its use relies on the principles of natural separation and mechanical separation, where natural separation utilizes the density difference between steam and water. Under the action of gravity, the slower the rising speed of steam in the drum and the longer the residence time, the better the result of natural separation. In fact, when using separate cylinders, in addition to the principle of gravity separation, the three principles of centrifugal separation, inertial separation, and water film separation are also used, specifically:
(1) Inertial separation: Separation is achieved by utilizing the inertial force generated when changing the flow direction of a steam water mixture;
(2) Centrifuge separation: Using a mixture of soda and water, the centrifugal force generated during rotation is used for separation;(3) Water film separation: The water droplets in the mixture of soda water and water adhere to the metal wall, forming a water film that flows downwards and separates.
