A crystallizer is a device used to crystallize solutes from a solution. According to different classification standards, crystallizers can be divided into various types, and their uses and characteristics also vary.
1. Classification based on the structure of the crystallizer:
-Hanging crystallizer: Suspend the solution in the crystallizer and crystallize the solute through natural evaporation or cooling. The characteristic is simple structure and convenient operation, but the crystallization speed is slow.
-Stirring crystallizer: By stirring the solution, the contact area between solute and solvent is increased to accelerate the crystallization rate. The characteristic is fast crystallization speed, but there is a high requirement for mixing equipment.
-Cooling crystallizer: By cooling the solution to lower its temperature, the solute crystallizes. The characteristic is that the crystallization speed is fast, but cooling equipment is required.
2. Classification based on the application field of crystallizers:
-Chemical crystallizer: used for crystallization experiments in chemical laboratories, for purifying compounds or preparing crystalline products.
-Industrial crystallizer: used for crystallization processes in industrial production, such as pharmaceuticals, chemicals, food, and other fields. Usually characterized by high capacity and automated control.
