By utilizing the difference in saturated vapor pressure of substances at different temperatures, high-pressure and high-temperature fluids are depressurized to lower their boiling point and enter the flash tank. Due to the fluid temperature being higher than its boiling point at this pressure, it will rapidly boil and vaporize in the tank, and undergo vapor-liquid separation.
Structural composition
It is generally composed of a tank body, a feed pipe, a discharge pipe, a steam pipe, an exhaust pipe, etc. The interior of the tank is usually made of stainless steel material, which has good corrosion resistance, high temperature and compression resistance. Some flash evaporation tanks will also be equipped with inlet distributors, outlet steam demisters, safety relief devices, liquid level displays, and liquid level adjustment devices.

Vapor-liquid separation: It rapidly separates the high-pressure and high-temperature fluid entering the tank into two phases, such as gas and liquid in the mixed fluid after reaction in chemical production.
Thermal energy recovery: High temperature condensed water is instantly depressurized, producing low-grade steam. Through heat pump mixed flow injection boosting control technology, low-grade low-pressure exhaust steam can be elevated to high-grade steam, achieving the recovery and utilization of thermal energy.
Reducing equipment burden: For example, in the ethylene glycol dehydration unit, separating most of the moisture and light components in the flash evaporation stage can effectively reduce the processing load of the regeneration tower or heater, extend the service life of the equipment, and reduce maintenance costs.

Chemical industry: used for fluid separation, vacuum evaporation and other processes in the production of various chemical products, such as flash evaporation separation of reacted materials in polyvinyl chloride production.
